This patent involves an apparatus used for making coffee while utilizing a coffee cup. This cup consists of a body, a paper or fiber filter, a plastic screen, and a foil cover. The design features a floor with groves directing fluid flow to a circular depression with holes for the liquid to exit. In this model, the coffee beans are placed between the foil cover and the plastic screen.
The key elements of this design, compared to ours, are:
1. Pre-packed container design:
This patent involves a cup-shaped base with a grooved floor. Meanwhile, our design utilizes a very different multiple-pod idea with a different and optimized shape.
Similar to our design, this patent utilized a paper filter and screen to hold the coffee beans and a foil lid to seal. The foil lid seal helps preserve the coffee.
2. Brewing process
In both designs, the foil is broken upon activation, pressured heated water is dispensed into the cup and coffee Is discharged through the cup’s bottom opening.
One thing this patent involves that our design does not, is the grinding of the coffee beans; our cups contain already grounded coffee beans
This innovation is related to an apparatus and system for filling single-serve biodegradable coffee pods. The patent describes a device that fills pods with ground food products, such as coffee, using a rotatable platform with multiple pod holders, a filler, and a sealer and trimmer for sealing and cutting a heat-sealable film on top of the pods.
This patent emphasizes using 100% bio-compostable materials for the coffee pods, which our design does not utilize due to strength limitations. Another varying factor is that this patent talks about sealing single cups, but our design is that of multiple pods.
A factor that this patent has, which is integrated into our design, is the sealing method. This patent describes a highly efficient and environmentally friendly method of sealing the pods. Although their material is different, the process remains the same.
This invention relates to a system that provides the possibility of obtaining different beverages (different in taste). To obtain this result, different pressures and temperatures are inserted in the coffee capsules, etc. This changes the strength of the coffee as well as the taste.
Other machines can produce different beverages like coffee and espresso, but these machines use a “combined technology”. This system separates the preparation: One is for coffee-pods or capsules, and the other is used, for example, filter coffee (which uses different pressures/temperatures).
This invention can combine both these two chambers in one functional system.
This relates to the design as two types of espresso and coffee can be produced. However, these are both produced by inserting two different types of coffee capsules. Each coffee capsule needs a different pressure and temperature, which will result in different tastes. Since our machine has a function to adjust the strength of the heated water, this invention correlates perfectly.
Invention which provides a device for making coffee and contains a housing with a tray and detachable water tank. This tank provides all the water in the heating system. The water tank can be extracted by the user for a refill. This device manages the water flow by controlling all heating elements.
The correlation between this invention and the design: The invention relates to all water heaters (control of these water heaters) in our design. Furthermore, the invention is focused on water heaters used for espresso machines.
